Pink ruffle bedding makes a decorative coating for the bed’s box spring or leg. A duvet cover placed over the spring box works perfectly as a bed for a bed skirt, which only requires you to attach a single fabric ruffle around three edges. Create your own bed skirt; you can coordinate the fabric ruffle with your bed linens, curtains or other textiles in the room.

Measure the bed box spring with a metal tape measure. Record the length and width of the box feather, and also measure from the floor to the top of the box spring. Cut two identical pieces of light decorative fabrics for the bed ruffle sides. To determine the length of the fabric needed, multiply the length of the elastic in inches by 3. In this number, add 4 inches to accommodate double-folded hauls. To determine the width of the fabric, add 4 inches to the distance from the floor to the top of the box spring.

Cut a piece of decorative fabric for the bed ruffle end piece. To determine the amount of fabric needed, multiply the width of the box spring in inches by 3, and then add 4 inches to the hem. The width of the fabric should be equal to the distance from the floor to the top of the box spring, plus 4 inches. Sew a 1-inch double-folded hem on the bottom and the ends of all three pieces of cloth, using a sewing machine.
